AI is so seductive. As long as I use it for things I know nothing about (and don't bother to fact check) the answers are always so well written and informative.
I remember back when Bing Chat would give references. When Bing was "hallucinating" the references would invariably either be AI generated pages or pages that didn't match what Bing asserted, sometimes both.
And when Google's AI summary was still spreading disinfo about Bixonimania while its search results were calling it fake.

@dbrand666 @nev Today I’d spent a good 20 minutes staring at tests that should’ve been mine but went against every principle I stand by. Turned out to be a vibe recoding of the test suite I wrote that another developer let their coding assistant merge in. For anyone not caring about testing (too many) those tests would look ok. In reality, they tested nothing. LLM output looks coherent locally, but loses that coherence real fast.
