@bammerlaan To help with learning #crochet stitch anatomy and how to recognise stitches for counting, you might like to find some yarn that changes colour in very short segments, with abrupt changes rather than smooth transitions. If you crochet something like a small square with it, the frequent colour changes mean that many of your stitches will have two colours within them, which makes it easier to see which bits of the yarn form which bits of the stitch. Using a thicker hook than recommended for the yarn might help too, as parts of the stitches will be more spread out and more yarn will be used per stitch, increasing the chance of a colour change in each stitch. Yarns like that tend to be cheap acrylic in my experience and I wouldn't normally recommend them but they are good for this purpose.
