@engideer @prietschka @zachleat yeah having to try to sound like a human sucks. Lists and em dashes may just be fucked forever, sorry to say. Silver lining, maybe we (people who give half a shit) develop more interesting writing styles

@gryphonmyers @engideer @zachleat I was reading Catherine Liu's "Virtue Hoarders" recently, and I was struck by how few actually give a damn about the craft of writing, of turning a phrase. Liu is an excellent writer and thinker, and actually cares about language. So few do, in academia and certainly elsewhere. And that things like em-dashes are now taken as proof of LLM usage, rather than simple punctuation, is both weird and sad. But the present sucks and everything is awful. So...alas....
