@wackJackle @nblr Helium for balloons is, yes, a frivolous use, but is nothing compared to the tanks of liquid helium that we trundle around to keep our university’s magnets cold. 1 litre of liquid helium is enough for 500 balloons. That said a lot of low temp physics uses “dysplexes”, low temperature fridges that use the closed circuit Gifford-McMahon cycle - an amazing sound that I can’t post. Sorry.
