(leon mccowan if you're interested, first business was selling cigarettes in school, second was fetching people's golf balls from the water at the city corporation golf course. real guy as far as possible from the bullshit of entrepreneurial culture you see on TV)

my first sales manager's first business was selling flick knives in school. i don't know if this is a general theme among people who work in sales.
