If you want mentorship at any stage, including brainstorming, message me! I've spoken at PyCon a few times and volunteer on the program committee. I've done a poster, tutorial, and co-founded two ongoing workshops (Intro to Sprints session and the Maintainers Summit). So hopefully my advice will help.
