I too read of the age-verification feature being added to systemd, with some dismay. But although it seems to provide a tool for "age verification" is also seems to be a wonderfully weak tool. As I understand it, they have added a data field for "BirthDate" for users in a Linux OS (using systemd), which can be entered by the system root user. Someone here pointed out yesterday that a particularly lovely (malicious compliance) date to enter would be 13December 1901 at 20:45:52 - corresponding to the "1" integer for a date field in C, and likely to satisfy any age-screening polling by remote systems. Whether or not there are regulatory measures afoot to require root users to certify they have age-verified all users of their individual computers, I do not know. Somehow I doubt it. The war is not ended! :D
