The last time I investigated this shit show, all I really came up with is https://github.com/ac000/itsa, but to use this you have to go through a time consuming (multi year?) back-and-forth signup process to get an API key from HMRC for each instance of this application. Sharing of tokens is not permitted. I really wish this were easier. Tagging @ac000 in case there's any new takes or advice :D
