If you don't see that as an advantage, you're not trying.
I work my own hours, even in retirement (does one EVER retire from one's own job?). I take on work I like, that I'm good at.The only disadvantage is the paperwork the gov't requires.

The point is that the person scolding others for not dropping a resume off with the receptionist has been out of touch with the realities of the job market for several decades. As for the rest of your comment, it is completely unresponsive to the original statement.
