@joshsusser I think part of it to me is just that english so full of weird corner cases and a lot of my earlier life I was constantly corrected in my pronunciation because I learned a lot of words out of books

@mattly i took a few years of Latin in middle school so i learned to be persnickety about pronunciation from an expert. i have such a hard time understanding people in general that mispronounced words can really confound me. if someone mispronounces a word it can send me spiraling down a pit of confusion. it's not that bad in conversation, but if i'm listening to media where someone's whole job is to say words so they can be understood, then i judge some.
