@Ambraven btop gives a better overview, especially if you want to spot trends over several minutes. htop is good to for navigation and gives a good "situation right now" view. top - as it's always pre-installed. If I need something better and can install it, btop is preferred if it is available. Otherwise htop. I recommend trying to master each of them. You might not be on a system which has the luxury of having the preferred one available.
