the recent lufthansa story made me wonder if someone has already coined something like a hanlon sinclair razor: an incompetent service clerk will get employed and kept untrained by a malicious cooperation if their profit depends on incorrectly processed service requests. because parts of the story can just perfectly be explained by "clerk's english was very poor"… but why does a german airline employ customer-contact staff who speak neither german nor english?

… at an airport from which they serve exactly one connection. only to germany. (okay, they also won't have any actual employees for such a sporadic connection and just outsource, but the economic interest remains: frustrate them and give them wrong information such that they give up before filing claims)
