@Soy_Magnus@detroitriotcity.com well, skipping most of the hurr duur business stuff. For you - having an llc would: 1. Allow you to get paid as a 1099 (independent contractor) 2. Get business insurance if needed for jobs 3. Write off taxes (usually you can write off about 50-60k if you’re smart so you can legally not pay taxes) 4. And LLC CAN in some cases act as a person and rent apartments, get credit cards, ect (though that’s mostly corporation stuff) but llcs can purchase vehicles, rent apartments, have their own lines of credit, ect You could open an llc and then apply for government contracts/1099 jobs as unlike w2 work as long as you carry insurance you no longer matter - but the “business” does. TLDR - if you plan to earn under about 20-30k/year it’s honestly not worth it if the money comes from tips/w2 job. But if you want to get into contract/1099 work it’s worth it.
