I get that most people don't need lifelong treatment after shingles, but for those that do surely it's much much cheaper to vaccinate. And just as we can't predict which of the 30% of us who've had chicken pox will develop shingles (and I bet that's going up, cos reasons), we can't predict which of those people are going to need expensive follow up

I'm lucky that my GP clinic emailed when I became eligible for the vaccine. But not everyone visits a GP regularly and too many are unaware of the 12 month restriction. I'd love to see the vaccination window expanded to two or even three years, to mop up those people who qualified but either didn't know or simply forgot. @RedRobyn @thomasbeagle @thirzajane
