hypothesis: this girlthing likes realistic military games (e.g. DayZ, Arena breakout infinite, ready or not) specifically because it gets to accessorize its character and weapons in tons of cool tactical gear

case in point: when my friend group plays DayZ, we avoid PvP, just build our base, go hunting and scavenging, and show off when we find a big pouch that fits on the plate carrier and matches its camo pattern. It's literally just FashionZ
