@zkat Big tech AI might be the closest equivalent to the One Ring we have in real life. For the big tech AI overlords it has the potential to be a surpremely powerful tool to remake the world order in their favour. For the average person it's just marginally useful and ultimately corrupting, but the thrill of power seems to be too much for many people to resist.
