@slyborg @Miaourt activitypub is public, and the feds could access it very easily, but i think it comes down to the boomers who run the three letter agencies don’t understand what it is, if they’re aware of it at all, and a few million people worldwide doesn’t seem very significant when there are a plurality of platforms with billions of users

@slyborg @Miaourt so with discord, yes it’s very strong encryption, but also the state and megacorpse have your meta-data so they basically know who you’re tlaking to when, with the fediverese, there isn’t a direct corporate mediator, besides maybe the hosting provider / isp, and the point of having coporate collaborators is the feds don’t have to build scrapers and things themselves Still Meta/ Facebook gives big bucks to gargron and his little mastodon pyramid scheme, Threads, that other slop platform they put out federates with mastodon.social, so basically everything that mastodon.social can see, so can Zuckerberg, and they siphon that shit up and feed it into AI trainers, the NSA etc.
