A single beat passes, as both combatants process what happened. And then the hero is obliterated, but they face oblivion with a smile, knowing that they have won. Even if their entire world is destroyed, there must someday come another. There will always be more. But there is only one abomination, and it will forever more have tentacles numbering countless less one.
