Something that is interesting/disturbing about LLMs is I can have conversations with them about specific chapters of technical books - and they can easily recall specifics about algorithms in those chapters and clarify what each step is doing: Which is kind of freaky that they really did just chop up every book and throw it in there - and there definitely is a lot of recall going on of copyrighted content.
