The guy has used it, sees it is advantageous, has made up his mind to use it going on... but he has to try to satisfy what are consequently his enemies by paying lip service to their claims about it. And then he's "hey everyone, look how conflicted I am". He's not actually conflicted if he has decided to use it every day; it just means he doesn't believe his mea culpa any more than I do reading it.
