Might have to check that podcast out.
I'll be particularly interested to know if they address the particular ways the debate fed into political polarization, or compare it to Common Core that way

@idlestate me too; especially as stats like literacy rates are watched very closely in schools nowadays, I suspect a system where kids are taught to convincingly pass the test without actually being able to read is awfully tempting
