@malte occasionally I scan photos. My MFC printer has a flatbed scanner and a automatic document feeder. The scanner is not really great for photos, but it gets the job done. I also sometimes scan stuff that I want as a reference for something else, like a pcb outline for KiCad or something I want to trace in InkScape.
