Maybe we move in different circles but i don't see leftists posting about how they refuse to fight fascism with anyone unless they voted for nader in 2000 or some such. I see liberals and rich democrats still blaming everyone but kamala and the dnc for losing. I see a democratic party elite that still thinks they don't need policies that americans want. "A productive conversation about the next cycle" begins with listening to americans, not listing the allies you refuse to listen to.

Wait you still expect fair viable-for-the-DNC-candidate elections next cycle? If your efforts in “building to the future” hinge on a Democratic presidency, then I’m sorry but all your work will be for naught. You have to build for the possibility of Republicans or worse in a system as democratic as Russia. Even if I’m wrong, there is still a 50-50 chance the Republican candidate will win, and you have to build for that eventuality too. So sure, vote in every election, but build infrastructure to overthrow fascism now.

The Democrats forced out David Hogg, a school shooting survivor who wasn’t even that radical, out of their party leadership. They seemingly fought harder to oppose Mamdani than they did any Republican candidate, only backing him when he was so far in the lead that they had no other choice. Their thought leaders have brought back trickle down economics after the election loss, something that even Biden claimed “never worked” just a few years ago. The left of the party has been trying far harder than the right to work together. Since the election it has been the establishment that has become radicalized in their positions, not the progressives. They have been actively hostile towards the left, doubling down on everything bad about the party while tossing out all the concessions they made to us. Blaming the left for the Democrats’ disunity is siding with the Epstein class, and that is not an exaggeration. They have fully abandoned the liberal democracy you held so dear, and pretending they haven’t only guarantees that the America you knew will never return.
