@Mr0@privacysafe.social Don’t read too much into this old geezer’s rants again AI, mate. Each generation has many bad apples, and much fewer good ones. And it is those few good ones that propel their generation forward. I was bemoaning—by being overly sarcastic—about what I hear from my old friends who are now college professors and my son who is now a college student: the majority of college students, no matter their field of study, are relying on AI, to an excessive amount of. My son works as a student researcher, as many kids do. He writes papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals, again as many kids his age do. But he is being advised by his professors to “tone down” his grammar and diction in the drafts, because many reviewers now hold the opinion that only those students who use LLMs write grammatical text!🤦‍♂️ Thankfully, these journals do not accept LLM-generated papers, at present. Let us see how long that lasts.

@AmenZwa@mathstodon.xyz I see, my bad. I thought it was one those, you know "back in my day, we didn't have cars, we had to fight off a lion and tame a dragon to fly us back home" 🤣 ... Imma be honest, I can't wait to get old and just talk shit about the younger generation, I have to continue the human tradition🤣 Sheesh, your son is not part of "many" in his age, he is part of a group of few, congratulations to him and you. That said, I have seen AI generated text at places I didn't expect...
