@alexmu Yes, Stappers ran and steered the model, but it was Knuth's problem and he validated it. But I think the interest has mostly come from his statement in the opening para ("It seems that I’ll have to revise my opinions [...]"). At least at one point, Knuth's platform of choice was reportedly the VAX-11/750, and honestly I hope that's still the case.
