@ThatWouldBeTelling @D-Droid @soapone conversely: cell phones only need enough battery for 1 day heavy use + 20% for lifetime degradation to meet market standards, people have ritualized charging their phones daily at this point. If you increase the density on a cell phone by 20% they’re just gonna make it thinner and gayer and were actually to the point where you can’t make them thinner because USB-C is a standard thickness You make a car battery 20% better and you’re advertising 20% more range, and market trends have shown no real ceiling in the amount of range the average car buyer will pay for if it’s available. Cant just increase range by adding more shitty batteries either because there IS a limit on how big people want their vehicles compared to the interior space offered
