In another time Ilhan Omar would be held up as an example of the best of the American Dream. A Muslim woman born in war torn Somalia ( a cold war victim) , raised in a refugee camp in Kenya brought to the US as a refugee . This woman worked her way to the US Congress . She caught my attention as a state representative winning an award as the best African immigrant for one year. She overcame her beginnings because of America's promise. She should be celebrated. #Somalia #Immigration #ice
