I don't think anyone will be surprised that cats that are bugging you on purpose are understimulated, and that letting them play more helps. But what is good to know is that food puzzles and nonfood toys seem equally good, and that playing of either kind right before normal mealtime might be good (speculation that it simulates hunting activity). https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0168159126001085
