@peterrowlett Awkward, isn't it? If you allow 0, the lcm of any two non-negative integers is 0, which isn't ideal. I don't know if there's a clean way to set up the terminology if you want to work with non-negative rather than strictly positive integers.

@RobJLow @peterrowlett I like @OscarCunningham's suggestion of interpreting "lowest" with respect to the order "x ≤ y iff x divides y"; then 0 is the *greatest* common multiple 😉 Might be a bit advanced for primary school, though.
