So here‘s what I did to automate cross-posting from Mastodon to Twitter with IFTTT:
1) Connect Twitter
2) Create a new applet
3) Setup a new “RSS Feed - New feed item” trigger
4) for the feed URL use https://yourinstance.name/@yourhandle.atom
5) THEN post a tweet with the content {{EntryContent}}
