LinkedIn is having a moment where everyone is realizing Microsoft holds their Bitlocker keys in escrow and can/will hand them over the law enforcement if they are compelled. I mean, yes they are, but nothing has changed since forever in that regards. If you don't own the computer hardware, you don't own your data. period. There are more secure ways of public cloud usage, but at the end of the day if you cannot touch it, you don't own it.
