does anyone else remember the degree of discourse that went on in the early 2010s about people who take testosterone without identifying as men socially
of course, "you don't have to transition you can just be a gender nonconforming woman you know", but if your gender nonconforming womanhood extends to taking testosterone, then actually you need to identify 100% as a man right now so that anyone who is triggered by your voice or beard doesn't have to apologise for reacting to you "like a man"
the way people were being like "you think you can get out of accountability for what you're doing?" about it, you'd think letting your voice drop an octave and letting your chest get hairy was some kind of war crime
gosh i wonder why everyone who could avoid engaging with feminism left these communities, leaving only a bunch of queer people who were 2% more masculine than the party line to take the full force of the perma probation

@compost_funeral@kolektiva.social Plus, considering the current dramas around trans women, chances are every gender non-conforming women WILL be labelled "not a woman" anyway… 'Cause there's no better success for feminism than increasingly restrictive and nonsensical definitions about what women are allowed to be like, apparently. /s
