I remember a version of Photos.app that had the rotate anti-clockwise button beside the rotate clockwise button. Since it was removed, it was one of the items in my list of things that made macOS feel like it was slipping. But today I realised that pressing Option changes the direction! It's exactly what I would expect if I was interacting with that app for the first time! Now it's in the list of macOS idioms and delights.
