All of you noticed the democratic decline and the corresponding rise in autocratic regimes in recent years. To better understand and address this issue, my colleagues and I started last fall to look into data on democracy. Throughout this spring semester, the students from the second and fourth semester at Data Design + Art developed data sculptures and interactive installations to visualise a variety of aspects around democracy and put them up to debate. Therefore, I'm really looking forward to this Thursday's Open Atelier, and I hope to see many familiar faces there.
