But the world is too complicated to make decisions based solely on whether someone is nice. The meeting in 2001 was at the intimate Lightweight Languages conference, organized by Paul Graham before YCombinator existed. Make of that what you will, I don’t think that’s relevant to Ruby or Rails in 2026, either.
