@_r most printers i've seen are able to support both ISO and american paper sizes, the difference between them isn't that large (and a printer/scanner in general needs to support a range of sizes, not just a few specific ones, since someone might occasionally need to get something printed on, or scanned from, paper of an unconventional size) having said that, yeah, about time the u.s. switches to a4 paper
