@dantleech just realised that if my thumb click is quick (as I usually do it) I get the menu, if I click and hold for a fraction longer than usual, I don't (I'm guessing because the OS thinks I'm about to hold and drag or something but I've no idea what a 'right click hold and drag' could even be used for)
