I'm having a lot fun with my SDR by having flight radar at home, I have very limited knowledge of physics but I assume that 1090 MHz should be kinda line of sight. There are several planes that my SDR can spot, but my eyes often can't. So now I often try to make visual contact with a plane. SDRAngel make it easy (when signal is good) to see if plane is Turkish or Chinese so I can stand up from my desk and look into the sky.
