@rixx That doesn't really say much, I've seen brand new modules have errors before cleaning. In fairness: That were full-size DIMMs, not SO-DIMMs, but I can't see a reason why this wouldn't happen to laptop ram. Maybe oils from people touching the contacts in the factory, etc.
