I'm just going to continue driving my manual transmission vehicles that don't have permanent cellphone modems installed in them and not replace them with thermal runaway death traps.

> permanent cellphone modems Yeah, I'm not buying one of these things with an onboard modem either. I've got a 2010 Volvo S80 with a 5cyl diesel (and a manual) and I don't drive enough miles to really see the benefit of changing that out. But if I ever need something else, it'll probably be something hackable like the 2016-2024 Leaf, and I'll just yank the modem out of it myself.
