@AdrianRiskin Good question. This book covers some proof basics like induction and recursion. Introductory number theory, prime numbers. Fundamental theorem of algebra. Euclid algorithm. Functions and relations. Diophantine equations. Combinatorics. Complex numbers. Polynomials. Linear equations and matrices.

  • @rtn Interesting. In the US these topics aren't typically taught in a single course so as far as I know they're not likely to be found in a single textbook. There are plenty of textbooks that combine the intro to proof stuff with combinatorics and a touch of number theory, but they won't have diophantine equations, complex numbers, etc. You would probably need three American textbooks to cover all this. Here are some good undergraduate level ones that don't require too much background: How to Prove it by Daniel Velleman Discrete Mathematics: Elementary and Beyond by László Lovász, J. Pelikán, and K. Veztergombi Elementary Number Theory by David Burton These cover everything you mentioned except the fundamental theorem of algebra and the linear algebra stuff.
