I'm about 1/3 through Emma Straub's "American Fantasy" and really liking it -- a fun and bittersweet take on people attending and hosting an aging boy band's annual fan cruise. I tend to cringe back from books that are described as sweet, funny, or heartwarming (blecch), but this is not that and is not cloying at all.

@aetataureate This Time Tomorrow was also quite sweet, but not in a cloying way.
