The magnet on the right hand side turns the device on and off when a corresponding magnet in the cover makes contact with it.

OH, and the li-ion battery that absolutely should not go into the trash and will burst into flames if punctured. Im betting 99% of these Cisco video pamphlets, like most disposable vapes, went straight into the trash.
