I have only seen ski waxing tutorial videos where wax is being dripped on ski first. I slide the piece of wax over the waxing iron and then smear the half melted wax on the ski. It is faster, the ski is more evenly covered with wax, the layer is thinner - less time needed to melt it, less risky to damage the ski base, less excess wax left afterwards. What am I doing wrong?

@rudolfsciemins@toot.lv I dont think it matters too much. I usually drip the wax first, but then go over with iron anyways to make it nice and even. Isnt it hard to load iron with wax sufficiently to coat all of the ski.
