I only recently learned there's a version of Universal Credit for working disabled people, included the self employed like me. Applied for that this afternoon, 3 month wait. Chronic illness is lumped in with regular illness, so I've got to somehow get a Fit Note from my GP to cover me for the rest of my life. It's almost like no disabled people are actually involved in the way these systems are set up. Why can't I just say "Hi, I'm disabled and working, please help" and get help? #mecfs
