@jbigham @ElenLeFoll @floe @flowdie @harvardhci @cmuhcii @hcigroup @jovermeulen Doesn't change the fact that the fees exclude a lot of people who cannot afford to pay having their paper published in an ACM venue. It's like a paywall for the top venues in our field.
And the fees are significant. I have a very hard time believing that 50-60 kEUR/year per institution or more than a thousand USD per accepted paper is required to cover their costs.
