have you thought about less resources-hungry unix-like systems ? I'm thinking about fuzix and the like ?

@FrankauLux Actually, I hadn't. I do think Fuzix is worth trying, but there's already an official build of NetBSD for EPOC32 machines, so that should (hopefully?) offer an easier path. If that works, it might offer clues for other OSes.
