@rashunda So I don't have an answer about this specific question, but I do think I read something that's relevant. Some social scientists were comparing how race and gender in the USA impact risk perception. They're paper is called "Gender, race, and perceived risk: the `white male’ effect". https://sites.stat.columbia.edu/gelman/stuff_for_blog/finucane.pdf Basically the further down you are in the white supremacist hierarchy the more one perceives various activities as risky. "Our survey also revealed that whites rate risks lower than do nonwhites. Nonwhite females often gave the highest risk ratings. The group with the consistently lowest risk perceptions across a range of hazards was white males, a result replicating the earlier research." So it feels consistent to me that people for whom the world tends to be more risky are going to be more worried about EV range.
