@edsanders2 @jonikorpi I prefer to think of it as social networking than social media.
Social media are companies run for profit, which exist to get people's interaction.
Fedi isn't that, thankfully. We're not the product for once.

@noodlemaz @jonikorpi I'm mostly a consumer here, and my interactions have been online only. I'm not aware of a single person in my off-line life who has decided to join the fediverse (and that's not due to my lack of recommending it). To be fair only one off-line friend was a Twitter user pre-Musk. She has half-heartedly joined Blue Sky, but that is not the fediverse.
