Thinking of some movie/show/whatever... Cupid shoots their arrows and so a couple gets together. The love doesn't last. Similarly like the grim reaper, the cupid comes to reclaim the arrows, ripping them out, leaving two broken hearts. Later on it would be shown how the wounds heal over time.
